Isaiah’s prophecies in Stefano Piali’s sacred art
It is the suggestive representation of a timeless story the one
narrated by the artist Stefano Piali and donated to San Giuseppe
Hospital in Marino: Isaiah 53, the reading of Isaiah’s prophecy by
Mary to the Child Jesus, in the presence of Joseph. Located in the
chapel of the health facility, this oil on canvas (cm.200x200)
presents a lively pictorial wisdom, linked to a volumetric game that
allows to see the sculptural sensibility of the artist. «History has
to be left to historians, art is another thing, because with its
humanity and contemporaneity it speaks to man about “all time” and,
while stepping in the shoes of time, it overcomes temporality. »
This is the comment of the critic Franco Campegiani present during
the delivery of the painting to the hospital and to Don Angelo
Guercini, chaplain of St. Joseph of Marino. «A beam of light in the
center as if it was an angel», adds Campegiani in his introduction
to the art work, «with the Dove on top, symbol of the Holy Spirit,
and the figure of the Father, overhead, clearly represents Isaiah's
prophesied cross, not yet materialized. » «An image that announces
the birth of something marvellous, even if from the supreme
sacrifice. Because there can be no affirmation without negation,
brightness without blurring. And this is the prophecy we need today»
concludes he. At the delivery of the painting to San Giuseppe
Hospital was presentStefano Cecchi, i.e. President of the City
Council, who brought the greetings of Mayor Adriano Palozzi,
recalling the importance and relevance of art works created by local
artists. Supported by council members Remo Pisani (Healthcare) and
Gianfranco Bartoloni (City Planning). Welcomed by Michele Di Paolo,
Chief Medical Officer of Polo Rm H 1, and Pietro Baldassi, Chief
Physician of the Department of Pediatrics.
